The media has been all a buzz about the NSA, their collection

of data on all Americans and foreigners as well. The agency’s

position is that it is keeping Americans safe.  Others feel it is

an attack on the 4th and 5th Amendments and the privacy of 

our citizens. It appears it was Edward Snowden, a former 

employee of the CIA and NSA that started this discussion 

with his leaking of information he illegally took from the 

NSA.  Just who is Edward Snowden and are his actions in 

keeping with his birth order?

Edward Snowden

Edward Snowden was born June 21, 1983.  He has a sister

Joy who was born April, 2 1979, four years and two months

older than Edward.  This gives Edward a Two/Only double

birth order as he was four years apart in school from his

sister.  He will demonstrate the Two birth order 50% of the

time and the Only birth order 50%.

The Two/Only Birth Order

Just what are the traits of this birth order combination?  The

number Two birth order is the person that does not want to

be told what to do.  In fact, they are a bit secretive of their

life letting only a few trusted people in.  They see things in life

clearly as good and bad, black and white.  Once their mind is

made up they will rarely change positions.  This is the birth

order sometimes referred two as the stubborn middle child.

When you add the Only influence to this birth order you get

an immovable object.  The Only birth order, powers up this

number Two to go where others would fear to go.  They take

their mission seriously and he may have felt that the intrusion

into one’s life by the NSA was wrong.  On a personal level he

would have hated the intrusion into his personal life and

projected that feeling on to others.

  

Childhood

Edward grew up the son of an officer in the US Coast Guard, 

his Mother a clerk in the US District Court in Maryland. His 

parents divorced and he was described by friends as a shy,

quiet, nice boy. He was always articulate even as a child, an

Only child trait. He missed several months of school due to 

illness and rather than return to school passed the test for his 

GED. This Two/Only studied the Japanese language, had a 

basic understanding of Mandarin Chinese and listed 

Buddhism as his religion.

Adulthood

In 2004 he enlisted in the US Army Reserve as a Special 

Forces recruit and wanted to go to Iraq to “help free people 

from oppression”. He never finished his training having 

broken both legs in training. In 2006 he joined the CIA to 

work on IT security. This took him to Geneva, Switzerland 

and Japan. He supported Ron Paul in the 2008 Presidential 

Election and held off on his leaking security information 

waiting on President Obama to make changes, they never 

came.  People at the NSA told a Forbes reporter that 

Snowden was a genius among geniuses.  He was

“principled and ultra-competent, and eccentric". He had 

unlimited access to NSA data, “because he could do things

nobody else could.”

Leaks

Snowden first made contact with The Guardian newspaper in 

2012. He also contacted documentary filmmaker Laura 

Poitras to help get his story out. In May of 2013 he asked for 

temporary leave from his position in Hawaii and flew to Hong 

Kong.  The published reports told of operational details of 

global surveillance among most Western countries. This 

showed the NSA had spied on most world leaders, specifically 

German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He is now living in Russia

since leaving Hong Kong on June 23, 2013.

Snowden the Idealist

Snowden believes what he did was right and no one will 

change his mind.  This Two/Only will never give in to the 

government and make a deal to stop his disclosures.  He 

has written “ I believe in the principle declared at 

Nuremberg in 1945; “Individuals have international duties 

which transcend the national obligations of obedience. 

Therefore individual citizens have the duty to violate 

domestic laws to prevent crimes against peace and 

humanity from occurring.” “people all over the world are 

coming to realize that the NSA’s surveillance programs put 

people in danger, hurt the US and its economy, and limit our 

ability to speak and think and live and be creative, to have

relationships and associate freely as well as putting people at 

risk of coming into conflict with our own government.” He 

sees himself as a crusader for liberty,he will never give in.  

This Two/Only is indeed an immovable object.

Birth Orders: Graduation & Career Paths

         

You have just graduated from college and Mom and Dad said it’s time for

you to get a job. When you came home you found that they had turned your room into a home office for Dad, you knew they were serious. Some of you

had part-time jobs but now it was time to get serious. This would be your last summer without any responsibilities but time is running short and you need a plan. Each birth order has a 

set of personality traits that fit their  “ideal” job but many don’t 

find it until later in life. The zigzag through many jobs. This 

information on your birth order should help you find a more 

direct path to that perfect position. We should also look at 

some of the things you did in college, many should not be 

discussed at the job interview.

The Only Child

Self-confident, not afraid of older people, may be spoiled, and 

not allowed to fail. These are some of the traits of the Only 

child. The world is theirs for the taking as they have been 

“little” adults all their lives. Only’s parents do not turn their 

rooms into an offices. Only’s can work with others but soon 

rise to the top. Working alone is also no problem for them. 

Books were their first friends so anything in this field interests 

them. They can also be interested in History, Art, and 

Publishing.  Starting a business is not out of the question. 

Their parents gave them a lot of self-esteem and confidence. 

When on an interview they may bring up information about the 

year they went to China to study and learn the language. Like 

Laura Bush, another Only, the library could be your new home.

The First Born

The Only child becomes a firstborn when another child enters 

the family. They want to please their parents, do well in school, 

like to be in charge and give orders. They are usually very 

responsible and are hard on themselves to be perfect. This 

birth order wants to be in-charge and many become CEOs. 

They will prepare for their interview and not fail to mention all 

they have accomplished, President of the student body, head 

of their sorority, and their success in enlarging the student 

parking lot. Any place where they can see themselves giving 

orders and helping others to “do the right thing” is perfect. 

School teachers are usually firstborns but so are the heads of 

most large corporations.

The Second Born

Don’t tell them what to do, very competitive, athletic, with an 

outgoing personality. These are some of the traits of the 

second born. In College they may have been on the 

basketball, swim team or the cheerleading squad.  They are 

the team player and the support person in anyone’s 

organization. Money, not power, is their overriding ambition, 

because when you have enough money no one tells you what 

to do. Their goal is to have autonomy over their life, which 

may mean, starting and running their own business.  Bill Gates 

and Warren Buffet did just that and no one tells them what to 

do. At the interview it might be prudent not to mention the 

time you and your friends handcuffed themselves to the library 

door to protest early closing times, you can be very stubborn.

The Third Born

Very sensitive, artistic, creative, intuitive, cares about the world 

and others.  These are some of the traits of the third born.  

Laughing on the outside but crying on the inside so no one 

sees their pain is typical of this birth order. Anything that 

seems to help humanity is of interest to these people.  

Working outdoors with nature, art, drama, nursing are all areas 

where they can excel. Money is not their goal and many are 

thought to be dreamers. Both Mother Teresa and Madonna 

carry this birth order. Depending on the job, you may want to 

tell them about the time when your Kodiak inflatable boat was 

rammed by a Whaling ship when you were volunteering to 

“Save the Whales.”

The Fourth Born

The true baby in the family, outspoken, comedian, loves to 

have fun. This person allows others to take care of them as 

this is what has happened all their lives. Planning for tomorrow 

is not a big concern but the next party or vacation is important. 

Working with large groups of people comes naturally as does 

speaking to their elders as this is what they have done all their 

lives.  They make ideal salespeople and hate a job behind a 

desk. It is all about personal interaction and having fun.  

Michael Jordan and Dolly Parton are both fourth borns and 

are still having fun.  At your interview it may not be the time 

to show off the tattoo you got after winning the tequila shot 

contest at spring break.

 Double Birth Orders

When four or more years separate a child from their older or

younger siblings on either side of them, they pick up an 

additional birth order, that of the Only child.  When you 

combine this with their birth order number you add strength 

to all the characteristics. This Only birth order amplifies, 

magnifies, and intensifies all the birth order traits.  Your job 

options are more varied but center around you. 

Understanding Double Birth Orders is the key to

understanding and unmasking everyone’s personality.

Your Future

What career path you take is of your own choosing. Match it to

your Birth Order and success is yours, you will love your

job.  Pick the wrong one and you will flounder for a while until

Unmasking Personalities

When you understand someone’s birth order you get

the opportunity to unmask their personality.  Every birth

order has both positive and negative qualities and this is

why different people with the same birth orders do not

always act the same. When people have double birth

orders they are very confusing. They demonstrate

characteristics from both birth orders in a random fashion. 

This makes unmasking their personality very difficult.

Prediction of New North Korean Leader

On March 1, 2011 I wrote a blog about Kim Jong –il

then the current leader of North Korea. I made a

prediction using the birth order of his children to

pick his successor.  I looked for the child that would

most match the father’s birth order, that of a #2. 

The answer was Kim Jong-Un a four/two double

birth order. He was declared supreme leader December

28^th 2011 following the funeral of his father.

How do you get a Four/Two Double birth order?

In order to get this birth order you must have two

groups of children separated by at least 4years.  In

this case the separation was 10 years.  The first

two children were born in

1971  #1 Kim Jong-Nam

1974 #2  Kim Sol-song

     10yr gap

 1981 #3/1  Kim-Jong-chul  (Third birth but oldest in 2^nd family)

 1983 #4/2  Kim Jong-Un
      4yr gap

 1987 #5/0  Kim  Yo-jong

The second child does not want to be told what to do.

The more you tell them the more stubborn they get even

though they know they are wrong. The battle with their

older sibling is their first taste of conflict and it looks

like Kim Jong-Un dethroned his older brother. In school

it has been said Kim was a competitive basketball player

and did not like to lose.

The fourth born is the true baby in the family.  Playing

games and letting other take care of the details is this

birth order’s traits. They also don’t want to grow up and

if it is not fun they don’t want to do it.  It is said Kim

is obsessed with basketball and computer games, likes

to drink and party. All this fits his birth orders.

Difficulty with World Leaders

Why are the world’s leaders so in the dark about Kim?

It is that most of them were elected not part of a family

dynasty. Most leaders are firstborns, like to give orders

and don’t really understand their younger siblings. They

feel the world revolves around them. Kim confuses them

with his #2 and #4 birth order traits ,something with

which they have little experience. Younger siblings

always know how to aggravate their older siblings.

Will Kim Jong –Un send up a Missile or Bomb?

No one knows if he plans to lead his country into

National suicide but this author says it is likely.

His number 4 birth order is no match for his aggressive

#2 traits as #4 sees this all as a game and #2 won’t give

in to outside pressure.

Update 8-14-17 
Kim Jong-Un has met his match with Donald Trump,
both have double birth orders. Kim a 4/2 Trump a
4/1.  Trump will be more measured but Kim will not
back down to pressure. Don't tell a number 2 what to
do. I expect a missile launch tomorrow but it could
be cancelled if Kim feels he gained somethimg from
his show of force.  Trump won't fire the first shot.

Your Birth Order: How will You Spend Your Tax Refund?

                                                                   

          For those lucky people that are about to get their tax

refunds, did you know that your birth order influences

how you see money and use it? Many couples have

different ideas about money and some feel this issue

can lead to difficulties in a marriage. Your birth order

can explain your behavior.

Basic Birth Orders

The basic birth orders are the Only without siblings,

the firstborn, second born, third born and fourth born. 

After number four the series starts over again. Each

birth order has their own view about money and how

it should be used. This does not mean that you have

no choice in the matter as each birth order has both

positive and negative behavior patterns, see which

is yours.

The Only

This person mimics his parents and is the only birth

order without siblings.  If he was indulged by his

parents and given anything he wanted then a person

with this birth order may buy jewelry clothes or art

work. Anything for himself, as this type of Only

would not want to share. The positive Only would

be buying books, his first friend, or maybe theater

tickets for himself and a companion to share in his

windfall.

Firstborn

The firstborn can be very frugal with money and save

it for their retirement or save it for their grandchildren.

Money can be used as power over others so by giving

gifts they feel more powerful. They feel the burden of

leading the family and want to be an example for the

younger siblings.  The other type of firstborn would

want to flaunt their power and may use the money to

throw a lavish party in their home to show others how

successful and powerful they have become.

Second Born

The second born uses money to protect themselves

from not being told what to do. Some of the most

successful people are second borns like Bill Gates

and Warren Buffett.  If positive, they will invest this

tax refund to further grow their nest egg.  If negative,

they may go on an adventure trip where they would

use their athletic skills or go to an exotic location very

much off the beaten track.

Third Born

This birth order doesn’t care about power or money

they see the human condition  and the beauty of nature. 

Their senses are very developed and they want to

understand and “Feel” life at every level. On a positive

note they may give their refund to the church, make a

donation to a worthy cause, or help a poor street person.

If negative they may throw a party where drugs and

alcohol are in abundance, or go to a rock concert.

Fourth Born

This is the baby in the birth order series and they may

want to seek advice from an older sibling as to what to

do with the money. They would tell them to save it for

the future as the older sibling will not always be there

to help them. Of course, they may not listen and just

want to have a good time with their friends. A party

barge would be a great place for a good time.

The Choice is Yours

Every birth order has a special way to look at money. 

They have a choice that is positive or negative and that

is why even the same birth order appear different.  Which

behavior will be yours and will you have a conflict with

your spouse if a Tax refund appears?

Are you tired of finding Mr. Right turn into Mr. Wrong? 

Spending too many Valentines days eating  Haagen Dazs 

ice cream by yourself? The answer to finding your “love 

at first sight” is birth order.

Valentines day brings up the question, “Why do I love 

you?”  Your birth orders may have the answer to this 

question and explain the attraction you have for each 

other.

If you meet someone with your same birth order but the 

opposite gender, you have found one type of ”love at 

first sight”. This relationship starts off with a bang as you 

have met yourself!  It’s like you are looking into a mirror 

because you are so similar.  The problem is that a mirror 

can only show one image at a time, if this relationship is to 

work one person must step away from the mirror.

An easier more lasting “love at first sight” is when you 

meet someone that is the same birth order as one of your 

siblings. For a traditional relationship they would be your 

opposite gender. If you are the third born girl with two older 

brothers, a first or second born boy that had a third born 

sister would be your perfect match.

Why does this work?  It works because you understand 

both the birth orders and genders of these two boys.  The 

relationship won’t start out with the same intensity as if you 

met someone with your same birth order. This type will feel 

as comfortable as a well broken in shoe.  This relationship

Ann Landers and Dear Abby: Twins with Double Birth Orders

Pauline Phillips - Abigail Van Buren

This is the life of two twin sisters who both pursued the same 

path, that of advice columnists.   Although twins there were 

differences.  With every set of twins,  one assumes the higher 

birth order.  In their case it was Esther, known as Eppie, that 

was 17 minutes older.

Third Borns

Both girls were the third birth so they share Third born

characteristics.  These include the ability to understand

people and size up situations involving people with almost

a psychic ability.  They tend to be intuitive and care most about

the human condition, but can also be artistic and theatrical.

Emotionally they show a happy face to the world but can cover

up their more sensitive side privately.

First Borns

Esther (Ann Landers) carries the first born characteristics with

her third born birth order. The firstborn wants to keep the

throne and will try to be the first and best in everything they

do.  They like to wield power over others and at times can be

caustic in their attempt to get their point across. Failure is not

an option so life can be difficult trying to please others and be

perfect. They feel they have the “right” answers.

Second Borns

Pauline (Dear Abby) carries the Second born characteristics with

her Third born birth order.  The Second born does not like to be

told what to do.  They are not as driven as the Firstborn but know

their weak spots and love to point out to them they are not

perfect. They are more light hearted and social as they don’t take

things as personally.

Sibling Disaffection

With the twins having Double birth orders they switch between

the same birth order #3, and their other birth orders a #1 and #2.

When they are both acting like 3’s they are full of love for each

other. When they are acting like #1’s and #2’s they are rival siblings. 

Sibling rivalry is usually strongest between the first and second

children.  In their case they were the first and second children in

the second family. The five year gap between the twins and their

older siblings created the Double birth order.  During their early

life they were inseparable, both primarily showing the number

3 birth order characteristics. They wrote an advice column in

college and even had a double wedding ceremony.

Their Marriages

Esther dumped her fiancé and two weeks later married the

 millinery salesman who she met while shopping for her veil.

Her marriage to Jules Lederer founder of Budget Rent -A -Car

lasted 36 years but ended in divorce. He admitted having an

affair. Pauline told Esther it was her fault which didn’t help

the sister relationship. This would have been typical for a

number Two to aggravate the older sibling.

Pauline married Morton Phillips heir to the family liquor

business. Esther felt betrayed when Pauline created her own

advice column just  months  after she continued the Ann

Landers column.  They would fuel the competitive drive

the rest of their lives.

  

Their Different Styles

Pauline’s column answers  were more friendly then Esther’s,

who was more abrupt. She resented Pauline’s financial

success although both sisters were very successful. Pauline

seemed to have a more personal attachment to her readers.

Twins with Double Birth Orders

Here was an interesting example of Twins that ended up with

double birth orders.  The combination of birth orders, a

double birth order, creates a more complicated person.  These

two women though alike in many ways, exemplify the extreme

differences birth orders can create.
